Capt. John Brown, a fire department spokesman, told The Star-Ledger that one firefighter was hurt around 10 a.m. Saturday when a branch fall on his head while he helped fight a brush fire at Ivy Hill Park. But further details on the firefighter's condition were not immediately available.

That incident occurred several hours after four other firefighters were hurt while battling a two-alarm fire in an abandoned 2.5-story home.

One firefighter suffered a cut near his right eye, while another had an ankle injury and a third suffered a back injury during the blaze that broke out shortly before 10 p.m. Friday.

Details on the fourth firefighter's injuries were not disclosed.
