Delaware Man Faces Charges for Killing Man Walking Dog in Deadly Hit-&-Run

Delaware State Police have arrested a man in a hit-and-run that killed a pedestrian who was walking his dog.

Police said in a statement Thursday that 35-year-old Nathan W. Jester Jr. of Felton was taken into custody at his home.

Jester is accused of striking Roger L. Coberly of Felton, who was walking on the shoulder of a road Tuesday night. Coberly was thrown into a ditch, and paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. His dog was uninjured.

Jester has been charged with leaving the scene of a collision resulting in death and failure to report a collision resulting in death. Police say he was arraigned and sent to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on a $4,001 cash bond. Court records don't list an attorney.
