4 Hurt When Car Crashes on Parkway

Four people were hospitalized following a one-car crash on the Garden State Parkway in central New Jersey.

State police say the accident occurred around 9 a.m. Sunday, when the southbound car hit a guardrail on the right shoulder near milemarker 110.8 in Middletown Township.

Two backseat passengers, 60-year-old Meghana Kadu and 59-year-old Ravindranath Kadu, 59, both of Jersey City, were seriously injured and remained hospitalized late Sunday afternoon. Ravindranath Kadu was in critical condition, while Meghana Kadu's condition was not available.

The car's driver and a front-seat passenger were being treated for minor undisclosed injuries. Their names were not released

State police say the accident caused major travel delays in the area throughout the late morning hours.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
