30-Year-old Man Dies Inside Well-Known Philadelphia Recording Studio Superior Sounds

The victim, who has not been identified, had been stabbed several times, police said.

A 30-year-old man was found dead Saturday morning inside Superior Sounds Studio in the basement of 444 Building on North 3rd Street in the Northern Liberties section of Philadelphia.

Fired cartridge casings and a bloody screwdriver were found near the victim, police said.

The victim, who has not been identified, had suffered gunshot wounds to his head and back. Officers arrived at the scene around 7:30 a.m. Saturday and the victim was pronounced dead at 8:10 a.m. 

The recording studio is well known among Philadelphia musicians, and has even hosted national acts like rapper Meek Mill, soul singer Jill Scott and DJ Jazzy Jeff.

"We didn't hear too much of anything," said Xavior Hicks, who works in the studio. "We just basically woke up to questioning."

No arrests have been made and police have not released a description of any suspects. They continue to investigate.
