Wilmington police have arrested a 19-year-old mother in the suspicious death of a 3-month-old baby
boy.
Police were called to a home on Kirkwood Street about 5:15 a.m. Friday for a report of an infant who had stopped breathing. When police arrived, family members were performing CPR on the boy.
The baby was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Later Friday, police said 19-year-old Jacqueline Figueroa had left the boy without supervision for several hours during the night.
She is charged with endangering the welfare of a child, a felony.
