3 Men in Critical After Triple Shooting in Frankford

Three men are fighting for their lives after a shooting in the Frankford section of the city Sunday night.

The victims, ages 24, 25 and 26, were sitting on the steps of a home on the 4700 block of Penn Street when an unidentified gunman walked up to them and opened fire.

"We got a description of just one shooter," said Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small. "We did find seven large spent shell casings on the street and sidewalk on the 4700 block of Penn which is an indication that at least seven shots were fired from a semi-automatic weapon."

The 24-year-old was struck once in the back and once in the buttocks, the 25-year-old was struck in the legs, groin and right arm and the 26-year-old was struck once in the face and once in the back.

The 25 and 26 year old men were both taken to Einstein Hospital while the 24-year-old was taken to Aria-Frankford Hospital. All three men are in critical condition.

No arrests have been made. Police have not released a description of the gunman but say he was wearing dark-colored clothing.
