Boy Chasing After Big Brother Hit by SUV

A 3-year-old boy is hit after chasing after his older brother, who crossed into a West Philadelphia street on Friday night.

Police say the driver, of what is believed to be a black SUV, took off from the scene at 53rd and Chestnut Street around 10:30 p.m.

"I heard a thump and then I heard someone screaming," said Maya Ibrahim, who rushed outside her home to find out her neighbor's son had been hit.

"She was like, they hit my baby, they hit my baby. So i called 911," said Ibrahim. "He was bleeding, there was blood all over her chest and blood coming out of his nose."

Family members identify the boy as Marzin Porter and say he's at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia with a fractured eye socket and concussion.

Surveillance video from a nearby corner store shows the boy's brother darting into the street, but doesn't show the moment of impact.

Police are reviewing surveillance video in the hopes of identifying the driver.
