3 Taken to Hospital After School Bus Crash

The students were checked out as a precaution

Authorities say three students were taken to a hospital as a precaution after the school bus they were in collided with a car in central New Jersey.

The accident occurred around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in Hamilton Township (Mercer County).

Police say the bus was headed to the Joseph F. Cappello School when the car entered the intersection. The bus driver said she tried to stop but couldn't avoid the car.

The bus then ran over the curb and hit a fence.

No injuries were reported in the accident.

The students, the driver and an aide were the only people aboard the bus at the time.

The driver of the car was a 69-year-old man.

He was cited for failing to stop. He was alone in the vehicle.
