3 Men Charged With Smash-and-Grab Burglaries

Authorities say they've charged three Allentown men with a smash-and-grab burglary spree that hit 34 businesses in four eastern Pennsylvania counties.

The burglaries occurred at businesses from May 29 to July 19 in Lehigh, Berks, Northampton and Montgomery counties.

Three men were charged Wednesday with multiple counts of burglary, trespassing, theft and related charges. They're identified as 21-year-old Ralph Alberto Abreu, 23-year-old Alex Ramos and 21-year-old Jose Antonio Cortes.

Police allege the three men removed cash registers, cigarette cartons and packs, change jars, cash and coins from the businesses. Authorities say the total amount of items stolen was more than $21,000 and the amount of damage totaled more than $33,000.

Surveillance video led investigators to the trio.
