3 Injured in I-95 Crash in Northeast Philadelphia

Three people are in the hospital after a two-car crash on I-95 in Northeast Philadelphia.

It happened around midnight in the southbound lane of the highway near the Cottman Avenue exit.

Investigators say 20-year-old Youn Zelenskiy was speeding in a 2003 Acura Legend. Eighteen-year-old Michael Vasquez, the driver of a 1994 Acura Legend, tried to switch lanes when Zelenskiy hit the back of his car.

Both drivers lost control their cars and crashed through a guardrail, according to police. Zelenskiy and a passenger were thrown about 100 feet from their vehicle. Both are in critical condition.

Vasquez landed in a grassy area about 300 feet away. He is in stable condition.

Police say none of the victims were wearing seatbelts.
