Three people -- including an ex-girlfriend -- have been arrested in the murder of a 26-year-old kidney transplant survivor who was killed in his home earlier this month.
Police say that 26-year-old Samantha Carol Parker of Rockville was a former girlfriend of the victim, Jonathan Harris, and had lived with him in the past.
Harris' mother found her son's body in their Silver Spring home Dec. 6 after an apparent home invasion. Montgomery County Police said he had obvious trauma to his upper body. The manner of his death was ruled a homicide as a result of asphyxia.
Parker, of Rockville, and 33-year-old Latoya Renell Morgan, of Capitol Heights, were arrested Tuesday. A third suspect, 32-year-old Dion Ramon Sobotker, of Temple Hills, was arrested Wednesday.
All three are charged with first-degree murder and robbery. They are being held without bond. It's unclear whether the three have attorneys.
Harris' credit card was used shortly after the homicide is believed to have happened, and surveillance video and images shows the suspects using his card, police said.
Police also said that Morgan and Parker made statements placing themselves at the scene of the crime, and that Parker had "made threats to physically harm [Harris] with the assistance of other subjects," they said.

In 2010, Harris participated in a kidney-transplant exchange that involved 32 people; the exchange was featured on the "Today" show. His mother, Patricia, had donated her own kidney to someone else so Harris could receive one.
Jonathan Harris' own kidney failed when he was 12. A donation by his brother also failed, leading him to join the kidney exchange.
