2nd Teen Arrested in Drexel Hill Burglaries

Police say a resident saw the suspect riding a bike with a flashlight at 1 a.m. and thought it was suspicious.

Upper Darby Police have arrested a second teen in connection with a month-long string of burglaries in Drexel Hill, reports the Delaware County Daily Times.

Police say that 18-year-old William Barber of Philadelphia was spotted riding a bike with a flashlight around 1 a.m. by a resident. The resident reported the suspicious activity to police, according to the Daily Times.

“He remembered we emphasized to call 911 at the St. Bernadette meeting and as soon as he saw him, he dialed 911,” police Superintendent Michael Chitwood tells the paper.

Officials arrested Barber and charged him with four of the 24 burglaries that occurred between November and December.

A 14-year-old Yeadon teen was charged with burglarizing six of the Drexel Hill homes two weeks ago.
