Last Escaped Inmate Captured in NJ

All four inmates are now back in custody after escaping from facilities in New Jersey

Police have now captured all four state prisoners who they say escaped facilities in South and North Jersey last week.

The latest happened early Sunday morning around 4:45 a.m. A State Corrections Department spokesman said 23-year-old Michael Bentley was captured in Hardyston Township in Sussex County. That came after a high-speed police pursuit of a stolen car Bentley allegedly was driving and then a foot chase involving several law enforcement agencies and police canines.

Bentley's arrest came about 36 hours after the other escaped inmate, 21-year-old Corey Agostarola, was found in Pine Hill on Friday night.

Both men were discovered missing from the Mountainview Youth Correctional Facility in Annandale on May 20. At the time of their escape from the Hunterdon County facility, Agostarola had been in custody on burglary and weapons charges, while Bentley was being held on theft and burglary charges.

An investigation into how the escape occurred remains ongoing, authorities said Sunday afternoon.

Corrections officials said both Bentley and Agostarola will now face escape charges, which carry a three- to five-year prison sentence if convicted. Bentley was also charged with eluding, receiving stolen property and being a fugitive from justice, and additional charges are also likely to be filed against Agostarola.

Bentley suffered some dog bites during his apprehension and treated at a hospital. He was released later Sunday morning and was being held at an undisclosed site.

Terrence Feeney, 42, of Vineland was found and captured at the Black Beard Cave Amusement Park on Route 9 in Berkley Township on May 21.

Police say Feeney along with Joseph Brandt, 27, of Browns Mills were working at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Cemetery in Wrightstown, Burlington County on Monday at 1 p.m.

Both men were housed at the Mid-State Correctional Annex at Fort Dix where they were serving time for robbery and other offenses. Police say the two men escaped on a green Kawasaki motorcycle. Brandt was also found and captured in Manchester and is currently back in custody.
