Power Restored in Northeast Philly

Most of the homes affected were in the Holmesburg section of the city.

About 20,000 homes were without power in Northeast Philadelphia Thursday morning, reports PECO spokesman Bill Armstrong.

Most of the dark homes were in the Holmesburg section of the city, however, a handful of emergency customers such as hospitals have had their power restored by rerouting power from other areas, a spokesman says.

Armstrong says that there is an issue with one of the transformers at a substation at Rhawn and Ditman.

Power was restored around noon.
