Liane Makatura is the 17-year-old valedictorian and commencement speaker for Bangor Area High School. During her high school career, Liane has received the Presidential Volunteer Service Award, Tennis Heart of the Team, the HOBY Leadership Award, the Donley Award for Excellence, and the Cohen & Feeley Best of the Best Award. She is a Lehigh University High School Scholar, Dixtrict XI Tennis Scholar Athlete, and Exchange Club Youth of the Year for the Mid Atlantic District. In the fall, Liane will attend Dartmouth College.
