A mother's call for the gunmen who fatally shot her teenage son on Easter has been answered as a second teen wanted in the slaying is now in police custody.
Prosecutors say the 15-year-old Camden boy surrendered to authorities Tuesday in the killing of Tyimer Bright. A 17-year-old Camden boy was charged in the killing last week.
Both teens are charged with murder and two counts of attempted murder.
Bright was leaving a party on top of a building that officials had closed off earlier this year on April 5 when he was shot multiple times in a parking lot of a nearby business, Pitt's Automotive. He was pronounced dead on April 6.
His mother, Tracey Bright, called for the suspects to surrender to police when she spoke with NBC10 the day her son died.
"You were bold enough to grab a gun and pull the trigger and kill my son," she said. "So be a man, and be bold enough to turn yourself in and face those charges."
Authorities said the partygoers were heading out of the Crescent Boulevard building when a gunman suddenly opened fire.
A 17-year-old girl was wounded and a 16-year-old girl suffered a graze wound in the shooting. Both are expected to be okay.
City officials are investigating how the party was able to take place since the vacant building had been shutdown.
The party was heavily promoted on social media, where ads for the event stated "security would be tight."
