2 Charged in Heroin Mill Operation: Prosecutors

Two men face numerous charges after authorities broke up an alleged heroin mill that they say was being run out of a northern New Jersey home.

Bergen County prosecutors say 30-year-old Manuel Olivares-Kunnardt, of Hackensack, and 29-year-old Esmelby Estevez-Castillo, of Haledon, had about $333,000 in cash with them when they were arrested Thursday at a Hackensack home.

Another search warrant was executed at a Closter home, where the heroin mill allegedly was based.

Both men are charged with maintaining a drug facility and money laundering, while Olivares-Kunnardt also was charged with using another person's personal information. Prosecutors say more arrests are anticipated as the investigation continues.

Olivares-Kunnardt's bail was set at $350,000, while Esteves-Castolli's bail was set at $300,000. It wasn't known Saturday if either man has retained an attorney.
