‘Thelma and Louise' Busted in Upper Darby Burglaries

Police have arrested the two women they say are responsible for at least a dozen break-ins in the Cardington section of Upper Darby in the last month.

Dubbed "Thelma and Louise" by police, the women would knock door to door until they found an empty home. They would then break-in and steal cash, jewelry and children's toys, according to authorities. In some cases, they would ransack the homes.

The most recent rash of break-ins occured on Tuesday afternoon
. Police say they burglaried five homes in a three-hour span.

Upper Darby police are also investigating the women in connection with 25 to 30 more break-ins.
