2 Sentenced in Suburban Jewelry Thefts

Two men could spend up to a decade in prison after admitting to a spree of jewelry store burglaries in suburban Philadelphia with losses totaling nearly $1.5 million.

The Bucks County Courier Times said 39-year-old Phillip Prokop of North Wales and 23-year-old Ryan Wiley of Doylestown were sentenced Friday. The pair pleaded guilty in July to numerous counts of burglary, theft, receiving stolen property, conspiracy and related charges.

Bucks County Judge Jeffrey Finley sentenced Wiley to five to 10 years in prison. He sentenced Prokop to three to 10 years.

Both men said drug addiction fueled their crimes.

As part of the sentence, Wiley and Prokop were ordered to pay full restitution.
