Police Find Body Believed to be 1 of 2 Missing Boaters

Authorities say they have recovered a body believed to be one of two men reported missing after a boat capsized on the Susquehanna River in central Pennsylvania.

Lancaster County Coroner Stephen Diamantoni told the (Lancaster) Intelligencer Journal/Lancaster New Era that “a presumptive ID” had been made but officials wanted to hold off “until we can verify some things.”

Authorities said 20-year-old Cody Moyer and 21-year-old Jonny Velez, both of Reading, were reported missing after the craft overturned at about 5:45 p.m. Saturday about a quarter-mile south of the Peach Bottom nuclear plant. A third man swam to shore.

Crews searched the water and shore for several hours Saturday and Sunday. On Monday, a boater spotted the body in the water about 200 yards south of the power plant.
