Police say two people are dead after a crash in Newark.
The crash occurred just before 12:30 a.m. Sunday on Library Avenue, just north of Ogletown Road in Newark. Investigators say the vehicle struck a tree in a traffic island.
Police identified the driver as 21-year-old Zachary Burris of Newark. He was killed along with 21-year-old Alexis Baunchalk of Newark who was the front-seat passenger.
Police say it appears neither of the victims was wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
