2 Ex-Philly Cops Plead Guilty in Heroin Scheme

The third ex-cop accused in the case is set to plead guilty Tuesday

Two former Philadelphia police officers have pleaded guilty in a plot to steal heroin from a suspected drug supplier.

Robert Snyder and James Venziale entered their pleas Monday.

They are scheduled to be sentenced in May.

Venziale has agreed to cooperate with prosecutors. He faces a mandatory minimum of five years in prison after admitting he took part in a staged traffic stop of the dealer in May.

Snyder, who is not cooperating, faces a mandatory 10 years on drug and gun charges related to the scheme.

Federal prosecutors say a third co-defendant, suspected dealer Angel Ortiz, is set to plead guilty Tuesday.

Snyder's wife, former officer Mark Williams and the suspected heroin supplier, Miguel Santiago, have pleaded not guilty.
