2 Arrested After Train Gets Stuck on Ben Franklin Bridge

The train was stuck for about an hour before another train was called in to transfer the passengers.

Two people were arrested for allegedly trying to leave a train after it was stuck on the Ben Franklin Bridge.

Officials say a PATCO train heading from Philadelphia to New Jersey was crossing the bridge around 6 p.m. when it suddenly stopped on the tracks. The train was stuck for about an hour before another train was called in to transfer the passengers.

While the train was stuck, officials say two people left the train and walked on the tracks. They were apprehended by Delaware Port Authority Police Officers, arrested and charged with trespassing.

The disabled train was removed from the tracks around 7 p.m. Officials are investigating how it malfunctioned in the first place.
