An 8-year-old boy landed in the hospital after fire broke out inside his North Philadelphia home overnight.
Philadelphia firefighters responded to a two-story home on the 2600 block of N 18th Street around 1:45 a.m.
Firefighters said they got the blaze under control in about 30 minutes but not before it spread to at least one other home.
A child suffered minor smoke inhalation and medics rushed the boy to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children for treatment.
The blaze remained under investigation Monday morning as the American Red Cross assisted three families displaced by the fire.
