Police in New Castle County are investigating the shooting of a 16-year-old in the community of Sparrow Run in Newark.
Police say they detained one suspect Monday after responding to the 100 block of East Plover Drive around 2:45 p.m.
Police say the 16-year-old was shot in the upper body and transported to a hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.
Police did not release any additional details.
