Police say a 15-year-old boy was pistol whipped, tied up, and robbed by two men during a home invasion inside an apartment in West Philadelphia.
Investigators say the horrifying chain of events started around 3:40 p.m. Friday on the 200 block of South 48th Street when the teen answered the door. Police say one of the men asked the teen if a man named Darryl was home. The teen told the man he did not know anyone by that name and attempted to close his apartment door. Police say the men pushed their way inside and pulled out guns.
Investigators say the men walked from room to room asking the boy where his mother kept her money. The alleged victim was then hit in the back of the head with a gun by one of the men, according to police. The boy told police he was tied up with a belt and a telephone cord. Investigators say the men stole about $2,000 and jewelry. Both suspects left the scene.
Both are described as medium build with dark skin. One of the men had no facial hair and was wearing a tan jacket at the time of the incident. Police say one of the suspects brandished a silver revolver while the other had a black handgun.
