11-Year-Old Boy Struck by Hit-&-Run Driver

Philadelphia Police say an 11-year-old boy was struck by a hit-and-run driver while skateboarding in Southwest Philadelphia Sunday.

It happened along 65th and Greenway Avenue shortly before 8:30 p.m.

The crash left the boy hurt.

The driver stopped, got out of the car and saw the boy on the ground, police said. She then got back into his car and continued on Greenway, according to investigators.

A witness -- who wished to not be identified -- says he caught the screeching of wheels during the crash on audio recording.

"She got out of the car, looked at it, she seen that there was a boy in the street and she screamed as she got back in the car and just ran over him again," the witness said.

The boy appeared to be unconscious in the street, witnesses said.

He was rushed to Children's Hospital in stable condition with cuts and bruises, cops said.

Police describe the car as a black or dark blue Mercedes or BMW.

Anyone with information on the driver should contact Philadelphia Police.
