10 Could be Charged in Piazza Murders

Investigators expecting more arrests

Up to 10 people could face charges in last month's double murders inside a trendy condo in Northern Liberties, according to Philly.com.

Four suspects are already in custody, including William "Pooh" Hook, who investigators say orchestrated the drug-related ambush. Five or six more people could be arrested in the case, Capt. James Clark indicated to the Inquirer.

Rian Thal and Timothy Gilmore were gunned down on the seventh floor of the Navona apartment complex, right outside her apartment on June 27. Surveillance cameras caught the shootings from several different angles as well as the men entering and leaving the building. It's located inside the Piazza at Schmidts, a sprawling euro-style retail and entertainment development.

Thal, 34, was a party and event planner. She was well known in the city's nightlife and hip hop scene. Investigators say she was also a top-dollar drug dealer and that's what got her killed. Thal and Gilmore were ambushed by four gunmen after the two got out of the elevator that Saturday afternoon. Police think Hook set up the ambush to steal drugs from Thal. Cocaine and $100,000 were found in her apartment after the murders. Gilmore, a truck driver from Ohio, was also involved in the drug trade, according to investigators.

Along with Hook, who denies any involvement, the three other suspects already in custody include Katoya Jones, a woman who lives in the same complex. Jones, 25, is charged with conspiracy, murder and related offenses. Police say she's the woman in the surveillance video who let the shooters into the building.

Robert Keith, 27, is accused trying to break into Thal's apartment with Hook earlier that same day, according to the paper. But the two men broke into the wrong unit.

Edward Daniels, 33, is charged with murder, robbery and related offenses.

The main shooter is still on the run. Police say he's the heavyset man in the surveillance video. They've identified him as Donnell Murchison and put a $10,000 reward out for anyone who helps police find him.
