One person is dead and another has been hospitalized after a single-car accident in Morrisville early Sunday morning.
Investigators say that the accident happened on the northbound side of U.S. Route 1 between M-Y Lane and Lincoln Highway, shortly before the toll bridge, at around 3:45 a.m. Witnesses said that the car flipped over and ejected a 20-year-old man approximately 20 feet from the scene.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene -- it is unclear if it was the person who was ejected from the car -- while another person was transported to a local hospital. No other information about either victim was immediately available.
The northbound side of U.S. Route 1 between M-Y Lane and Lincoln Highway was closed for several hours Sunday morning while the crash was investigated and cleared. The road was fully reopened shortly after noon.
