1 Dead In I-95 Crash

Highway re-opened between Aramingo and Allegheny Avenues

A section of Interstate 95 has re-opened after being briefly closed due to a fatal accident Saturday morning.

Investigators say that the accident occurred shortly before 7 a.m. near the Aramingo Avenue exit in Northeast Philadelphia when a Ford Mustang slammed into the rear of a truck. The driver of the Mustang had to be extricated from the car, and was transferred to Hahnemann University Hospital and was later pronounced dead.

Police have not released the identity of the driver.

Interstate 95 South was closed between Aramingo Avenue and Allegheny Avenue near the Betsy Ross Bridge while the accident scene was cleared.
