One man died and five people were hurt after a shooting in the Kingsessing section of the city.

Police say six men were on the corner of Los Papi Deli and Grocery on 54th Street and Florence Avenue around 7 p.m. on Sunday when an unidentified gunman opened fire.

A man in his 20s, who investigators say was likely the intended target, was struck multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Sources close to the investigation identified him as 22-year-old Devin Hatch.

Police also say an 18-year-old man was shot in the left calf, an 18-year-old man was shot in the right leg, a 21-year-old man was shot in the left arm, a 23-year-old man was shot in the chest and an 18-year-old was shot in the left leg.

The 23-year-old man was left in critical condition. The other four surviving victims were stable.

Police have not yet revealed the identities of the surviving victims. Several people on social media identified one of the victims as Jerry Price, a former basketball player at Penn Wood High School. This was not confirmed by police however.

"I heard the shots and I hit the deck," said one witness.

Around 50 shell casings were found at the scene of the shooting. Investigators say a large crowd was on the street when the gunman opened fire.
