Delaware State Police have arrested two Maryland residents in the attempted robbery of a man at an ATM in Newark.
Twenty-four-year-old Megan Fields of Northeast and 33-year-old Stephen Campbell of Elkton were arrested Tuesday. They are each charged with attempted robbery and other offenses.
Troopers say on Aug. 19, a 74-year-old man withdrew money from a Wells Fargo bank. Police say Fields brandished a knife and demanded the man's cash.
Officers say the man punched the woman in the face. Police say the woman ran to the man's car, punctured one of its tires and fled in a car driven by Campbell.
