Doctor Heads to Trial on Indecent Assault Charges

A doctor in Pennsylvania is headed to trial on charges of indecent assault lodged by three female patients.

A judge on Thursday found enough evidence against 59-year-old Dr. Samuel Rashid to send the case to Lebanon County Court.

Rashid was ordered to have no contact with the three women or more than 30 other women who have come forward since initial charges were filed on July 9.

Three former patients testified at Thursday's preliminary hearing, including a young woman who said she was 12 or 13 years old when Rashid inappropriately touched her during an examination for a possible ear infection in 2008.

Defense attorney Joseph Sembrot says Rashid vehemently denies the allegations.

Rashid has taken a leave of absence from Lebanon Valley Family Medicine.
