I reside in the Art Museum area -- seven blocks by seven blocks of cute coffee shops, quaint bookstores, nice restaurants, and people who know to scoop up their puppy's poop.
I decided to take part in this weight loss challenge because, as the owner of Brownstone PR, my schedule of constructing public relations campaigns, editorial pitching, developing strategic partnerships and client meetings doesn't really allow time for proper fitness and good eating habits.
I do run occasionally, but stop short of breaking a sweat; and I constantly eat on the go. Admittedly, I'm addicted to anything with tons of fat and sugar and I've never been friends with green leafy things. I did join a gym one time just to sport my new workout clothes!
Since August 2008, I've been trying to get into shape by simply cutting a few calories here and there and light jogging along Kelly Drive. I've been able to shed a few pounds, but they've started to come back and I need to make a change.
I'm tired of being a yo-yo dieter and hitting the same weight loss plateaus. I would like to finally get this weight off -- and keep it off -- so that I can be at my best, healthiest self!
My goal is to lose 25 pounds.
