Quit Smoking for Love

The Pennsylvania Department of Health's new campaign urges smokers to quit in the name of love.

With Valentine’s Day behind us, that doesn’t mean it’s too late to show a little love to those you cherish most.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health recently launched a campaign to urge smokers to quit. Whether it's for a family member, a close friend, or a significant other, the goal is that it's all in the name of love.

Open to all Pennsylvania residents, the new campaign, Quit for Love offers free starter kits for those wanting to kick the bad habit. Each kit comes with a four-week supply of nicotine patches and other complimentary resources.

With the campaign, residents are eligible for a series of free counseling sessions offered through the PA Free Quitline at 1-800-QUIT-NOW.

Smokers can also seek extra help through "Determined to Quit" -- a program under the PA Health Department's Division of Tobacco Prevention and Control. The program offers helpful resources like tips on how to make a quit plan and personal testimonies from others who battled nicotine addiction.

The Quit For Love campaign is apart of the PA Department of Health's efforts to keep Pennsylvanians healthy and smoke-free.
