Tuesday's excessive heat killed an 87-year-old man from Roslyn, Montgomery County, Pa.

The man died of heat stroke while working in his yard, according to the county's coroner, Dr. Walter I. Hofman.

Temperatures reached the low 90s across much of the area yesterday, but mixed with the humidity -- the heat index, or how hot it feels -- was about 95 degrees, according to NBC10 Meteorologist Michelle Grossman.

The coroner says the victim's body temperature reached 102.9 degrees Fahrenheit. Heart disease and diabetes contributed to his death.
