6th Swine Flu Death in Delaware

Delaware public health officials reported the state's sixth death related to swine flu and the first of the new year.

The Division of Public Health announced Wednesday that a 56-year-old Kent County woman died Jan. 2.

The woman, who was not identified, was hospitalized in December and had several underlying health conditions.

DPH Director Dr. Karyl Rattay says the woman's death shows that "the virus can still have serious consequences, especially in
people with pre-existing medical conditions.''
