Dan Onorato: Candidate for Governor

Pittsburgh Democrat tests statewide appeal

Dan Onorato is a life-long resident of Western Pennsylvania.

Onorato took office as Allegheny County Executive in 2004. Before that he served as County Controller and sat on the Pittsburgh City Council from 1992 to 1999. Priot to his run for Governor, Onorato gained fame for choosing a 10-percent drink tax over a property tax hike to subsidize the Allegheny County Port Authority.

The 49-year old Onorato is married, with three children. He lives in Pittsburgh.

Running with Onorato for Lietenant Governor is State Representative Scott Conklin. Conklin is 52. He and his wife have one child.
