Nestor Gonzalez opened the Centro Musical at the old Puerto Rico Theater, Germantown and Susquehanna, back in 1961. His son, Wilfredo, moved it to 464 W. Lehigh Ave., southern gateway to the Bloque de Oro (golden block) business district that runs up Spanish-speaking North Fifth Street.
