Dear Harry: Last year, I leased a car. After a short layoff, I fell behind in my payments. They repossessed the car, and they would not let me catch up when I was re-employed. Instead, they told me I had 15 days to purchase the car for $25,587. This was not enough time for me to arrange for financing. Can something be done about this problem? I really do need a car to commute to work. My friends are getting tired of picking me up, and there's zero public transportation.
