Dear Harry: After a long wait, I finally got a settlement check of $110,000 last week. I put it temporarily into my checking account. I have never had this much money before, and I am not sure of what to do with it. I'm 41, have a good job and own my own home clear. I have no responsibility for grown kids. My wife also has a good job. I would like to invest it in the safest possible place since a loss would take away my first big chance to have a more comfortable retirement. What do you recommend?
