Chesco hospital, insurer in dispute

Chester County Hospital said Keystone Mercy Health Plan will no longer insure patients there after Sept. 30unless the hospital accepts significantly lower payments. The termination notice includes outpatient services based at the hospital, including the prenatal clinic. The decision affects low-income residents with Keystone Mercy Health Plan and AmeriChoice Mercy Health Plan, both Medical Assistance HMOs jointly owned by Independence Blue Cross in Philadelphia and Mercy Health System of Conshohocken. It does not affect patients with Keystone Health Plan East.
