Report: CEO of Hahnemann and St. Christopher's Hospitals Fired after Two Months

Suzanne Richards was named CEO for the two hospitals at the beginning of this year.

What to Know

  • Both hospitals are part of American Academic Health System, a subsidiary of Paladin Healthcare.
  • Paladin acquired Hahnemann and St. Christopher's for $170 million in 2018.
  • Richards' dismissal marks the fourth CEO departure at Hahnemann University Hospital in less than one year.

The revolving door in the CEO's office at Hahnemann University Hospital and St. Christopher's Hospital for Children is still spinning.

Suzanne Richards, who two months ago, assumed the role of chief executive officer for both Philadelphia hospitals, has reportedly been dismissed according to philly.com.

Both hospitals are part of American Academic Health System, a subsidiary of Paladin Healthcare. Paladin, a hospital management company based in El Segundo, Calif., acquired Hahnemann and St. Christopher's from Tenet Healthcare Corp. for $170 million last year.

A few months after that acquisition was completed, longtime Hahnemann CEO Michael Halter left the hospital and David Small was named interim CEO. Later in 2018 Anthony Rajkumar took over as interim-CEO at Hahnemann.
