Philly Wings Fly Off to Conn. Casino

The Philadelphia Wings of the National Lacrosse League are headed to Connecticut.

The Mohegan Sun and the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority have acquired a 50 percent ownership stake in the National Lacrosse League team, which will begin playing its home games at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., this December. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The team will change its name, but that announcement will come at a later date.

The Mohegan Tribe and MTGA are not strangers to professional sports, having owned the Connecticut Sun of the WNBA since 2003. Read more about this story on PBJ.com.
