In Philadelphia, a city with 601,331 workers, the number of bike commuters is increasing, while the number of walkers is on the decline.
Census data for 2012 shows that 8.6 percent of Philadelphians walk to work, a decline from 9.1 percent in 2000.
Biking to work is on the upswing, as 2 percent of Philadelphians (like me!) do so, compared to just 0.9 percent in 2000.
Philadelphia ranks high on both lists, compared to other large cities. Read more about this story on PBJ.com.
