Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter Heads to Rome for Final Pope Preparations

Mayor Michael Nutter will be heading down to Rome for a four-day delegation for final preparatory meetings for the upcoming World Meeting of Families and Pope Francis' first visit to the United States in Philadelphia.

Nutter will join Archbishop Charles J. Chaput, city officials, and several civic and business leaders from June 22-25 for planning meetings and events related to the World Meeting of Families event, which will take place Sept. 22-27.

The four-day visit will focus on final preparations for Pope Francis' visit on Sept. 26 and 27 and a comprehensive update on the weeklong World Meeting of Families Congress. More than 15,000 registrants from 150 countries are expected for the congress.
