New Beer Garden Coming to Center City

A 9,000-square-foot pop-up beer garden will be coming to Philadelphia's business district.

Teddy Sourias, owner of Bru Craft & Wurst, U-Bahn and Finn McCools Ale House, will open Uptown Beer Garden at 1735 JFK Blvd. in the courtyard of the BNY Mellon Bank Center on July 1 at 4 p.m.

Running through September, the massive beer garden — it’s 3,000 square feet larger than U-Bahn and Bru combined — can accommodate up to 500 guests.

Sourias said it's been his dream to open a rooftop or patio bar and lounge.

"The space had everything I was looking for, including expansive views of the new high rises, lush greenery, a mix of intimate and large spaces, and building partners that would let my team get creative," he said.
