Bose Agrees to Dismiss Lawsuit Against Beats

Attorneys for Bose Corp. and Beats Electronics have agreed to dismiss a patent infringement lawsuit filed by Bose.

Bose alleged in federal court in Delaware in July that Beats was infringing on several Bose patents regarding noise-canceling headphones.

Bose filed a parallel complaint with the International Trade Commission seeking to halt U.S. imports of Beats Studio and Beats Studio Wireless headphones.

Attorneys for Beats had filed an unopposed motion asking that the Delaware lawsuit be put on hold pending a final determination by the ITC, which is investigating Bose's claims.

Apple announced in May that it was buying Beats Electronics for $2.6 billion in cash and $400 million in stock, the most expensive acquisition in Apple's 38-year history. In addition to making headphones, Beats offers music streaming services.
