Live Wires Catch Fire in Yardley

A vehicle crashes into a utility pole bringing down power lines

A car crash Monday afternoon left officials dealing with a fiery situation in Yardley, Pa.

A woman crashed her car into a utility pole at the corner of W Afton Avenue and N Main Street around 3:45 p.m. causing wires to fall down, officials said.

The unidentified driver luckily wasn’t seriously injured and refused medical assistance.

But emergency officials still had to deal with a difficult situation. The crash caused utility wires to go down and catch fire.

The fiery wires could be seen burning as utility crews rushed to the scene.

The scene was under control after about an hour, authorities said.
