4 Women Stabbed in N Philly Knife Fight: Cops

Street fight allegedly started over a guy, cops say

A street fight in North Philadelphia Thursday afternoon left at least four women hospitalized.

The women used knives and sticks against each other as they apparently fought over a guy at 8th and Diamond Streets around 4:45, Philadelphia Police said.

It was unclear who was fighting whom, but at least four females -- including a 16-year-old who was in stable condition after being stabbed in the arm -- were involved, cops said.

An 18-year-old was in critical but stable condition after being stabbed in the throat and face, police said.

A 23-year-old woman was in stable condition after being stabbed in the face and forehead and a 38-year-old woman was in stable condition after being stabbed in the right arm, police said.

The fight was part of an ongoing dispute between the women, cops said.

Other people were possibly involved, according to police.

Charges are likely for at least one of the women involved, cops said.

A nearby recreation center apparently had nothing to do with the fight, cops said.
